ABBOTSFORD, B.C., - August 21st, 2024
The Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce is urgently calling on the federal government to take immediate action to ensure the continuation of rail services and prevent a nationwide rail stoppage.
“Abbotsford’s businesses, of all sectors from agricultural operators to manufacturers, rely on the rail system for the transport of goods and a stoppage would be devastating for the local economy,” said Alex Mitchell, Abbotsford Chamber CEO.
“The federal government must show leadership and act to get a fair deal before our trains – and with them, our economy – grinds to a halt.”
